Mentoring
Leaders can be inspired to greater heights through encouraging
words, challenging insights and unshakable examples through
mentoring. Mentors center on where men are currently and
where they want to go in the future.
Over the telephone, through e-mail and at face-to-face
meetings, a mentor can help students identify areas to work
on with specific action plans and timelines for success.
The venture in a mentor relationship can be significant,
so just like any decision, a positive return on the investment
should be a primary factor. Creating a meaningful contact
requires a joint effort between the mentor and student with
specific plans for accountability in the relationship.
Mentors will likely be working or have worked in a professional
field similar to the member’s course of study. As the journey
continues after college years, mentors should plan to maintain
a lifetime relationship as partners in integrity and responsibility.
